by Michael Dorris. (1989) Harper-Collins-Perennial. Michael Dorris was
the adoptive father of a Native American Indian boy who had a severe case of FAS.
His book combines symptomology, research and an in depth description of the behavioral
characteristics of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. It is considered to be the pioneer book on
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Extremely well documented with an excellent research
bibliography. Available through most bookstores in paperback. National Book
Critics Award Circle Winner.
